Skinimalism - Simplifying Your Skincare Routine with Silki

The idea of minimalism has come a long way. From Marie Kondo urging us to keep only what sparks our joy, to sorting-videos reaching high view-counts on Tik Tok. And for good reason.

Our lives can be cluttered, busy, layered, complex.

But your skincare doesn’t have to be.

This is where Skinimalism comes in. A fairly new buzz word making the rounds on social media but unlike the put-plain-lemon-juice-on-your-face trend; this one actually works.

By definition, Skinimalism refers to the process of simply stripping back those unnecessary skincare steps and cutting down on the make-up products that you are using. We’ve come a helluva long way from the 2010 rise of thick, caked-on makeup and honey, we’re never going back.

So, how do I go about decluttering my skincare routine?

Now we’re not out here telling you to throw everything away - it’s just about simplifying the process.

Skincare minimalists suggest keeping your routine between 3-5 steps long - so basically, a cleanser, an active serum, a moisturizer and/or facial oil and sunscreen.

The idea is to find and choose single products that are ultra-effective and hyper-focused to your specific skincare concerns, to make way for all of the products to shine individually.

It is essentially taking it back to a simpler routine that is both more accessible and effective.

What do we suggest?

Choosing specific products catered to your skin is so important — and you can always reach out to us if you’re unsure — but we do know a thing or two about skin types and concerns, and we’re damn sure about our products and their abilities.
