Does Your Skincare Routine Need a Spring Clean?
Spring has officially arrived, bringing longer days, warmer weather and more time in the sun. While you don’t need to replace your entire skincare routine every season, a few thoughtful changes can help your skin adjust to what’s next.
Think of it as a spring clean for your skincare: keep what works, clear out what doesn’t and make room for the essentials your skin will need as we move closer to summer.
1. Start With a Fresh Cleanse
As temperatures rise, increased sweat, sunscreen and excess oil can leave more buildup sitting on the skin. That doesn’t mean you need to scrub your face within an inch of its life — just make sure your cleansing routine is doing its job without leaving your skin feeling tight or stripped.
If you wear makeup or SPF, start your evening routine with Balm’Voyage Double Cleansing Oil-to-Milk Balm to melt away the day before following with your usual cleanser.
For a gentle daily cleanse, the Hydrating Foaming Cleanser removes impurities while helping dry or dehydrated skin retain moisture.
2. Exfoliate, But Don’t Overdo It
Months of cold weather and dry air can leave the face and body looking dull or feeling rough. Gentle exfoliation helps remove dead surface skin cells and encourages smoother, more radiant-looking skin.
For the face, the Skin Perfecting Exfoliating Tonic contains 2% Salicylic Acid to help clear buildup, refine the appearance of skin texture and support clearer-looking skin. Introduce it gradually at night, two to three times per week, and always follow with SPF during the day.
For areas such as the legs, knees, elbows and underarms, the Super Fade Body Scrub gently buffs away dead skin cells while helping improve the appearance of rough texture and uneven-looking skin.
Remember: more exfoliation does not mean faster results. Give your skin time to recover between uses and avoid layering multiple exfoliating products in the same routine.
3. Keep Hydration High
Warmer weather can make the skin feel oilier, but oil and hydration are not the same thing. Sun exposure, heat, air conditioning and increased activity can still leave the skin feeling dehydrated.
The lightweight Quench 120™ Serum delivers layered hydration without a heavy or sticky finish, making it an easy addition to a warmer-weather routine.
Follow with a moisturiser suited to your skin’s needs. If your skin still feels dry, sensitive or compromised after winter, the Reset Barrier Moisturiser helps lock in moisture and support the skin barrier.
Summer-ready skin is hydrated skin — not skin that has had every trace of moisture stripped away.
4. Bring SPF Back to the Front
SPF belongs in your routine throughout the year, but spring is the perfect time to check that you’re applying it consistently and using enough.
The SPF30+ Daily Defence Sunscreen provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection in a lightweight, hydrating formula designed for all skin tones without leaving a white cast.
Apply it as the final step in your morning skincare routine, covering your face, neck and ears. Remember exposed areas such as the chest and hands, and reapply when spending extended time outdoors, sweating or swimming.
If exfoliating products are part of your spring routine, consistent sun protection becomes even more important.
5. Give Your Body a Routine Too
Your skincare should not stop at your jawline. As sleeves get shorter and summer plans get closer, now is the time to build a consistent body-care routine.
Start with the Super Fade Body Wash, exfoliate two to three times a week with the Super Fade Body Scrub and follow with the Super Fade Body Butter to moisturise while helping improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and dark marks.
If your main concern is very dry skin, apply the Body Gloss Oil Gel to damp skin after showering to lock in moisture and leave the body with a soft, luminous finish.
Consistency matters more than cramming every product into one everything shower. Choose products that address your skin’s needs and use them regularly.
6. Clear Out the Bathroom Shelf
A skincare spring clean can also be literal. Check expiration dates and look for changes in the smell, colour or texture of products you have had open for a while.
Clean anything that regularly comes into contact with your skin, including reusable face cloths, makeup brushes, body brushes and headbands. Your skincare tools deserve a spring clean too.
Your Summer Skin Starts Now
Getting summer-ready doesn’t require an overnight transformation or a completely new routine.
Focus on effective cleansing, gentle exfoliation, consistent hydration, daily SPF and giving the skin on your body the same attention as your face. Make changes gradually, listen to your skin and give your routine time to work.
