Position: HR Manager
Location: Maitland, Cape Town
Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to lead and oversee all human resource functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, managing employee relations, overseeing recruitment, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and operational execution to foster a positive workplace culture and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast hiring needs and workforce planning.
2. Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution.
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to drive productivity.
- Develop strategies to enhance employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
- Conduct investigations and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
3. HR Policy Development & Compliance
- Ensure company policies and procedures are in line with labor laws and industry regulations.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, contracts, and policies as needed.
- Advise leadership on HR compliance, legal risks, and best practices.
4. Training & Development
- Identify training needs and create learning programs for employee growth.
- Develop leadership and management training initiatives.
- Implement career development frameworks to support internal promotions.
5. Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Oversight
- Work with finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including medical aid, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary structures.
6. HR Metrics & Reporting
- Develop and analyze HR reports related to turnover, employee satisfaction, and workforce trends.
- Use HR data insights to recommend improvements and strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of HR management experience, preferably in retail or fast-paced industries.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of labor laws, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strategic thinking.
- Software: Proficiency in HR management systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
