Position: HR Manager
Location: Maitland, Cape Town
Overview:
We are seeking a driven and capable HR Manager to lead our human resources function in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will be able to manage both strategic and operational HR duties, with strong experience in payroll, disciplinary processes, and employee development. You will play a key role in shaping a people-first culture while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and scalability as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives

Advise management on best practices in talent and people management
2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
-
Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning

Maintain a steady pipeline of talent aligned with business needs
3. Performance & Disciplinary Management
-
Lead performance evaluation cycles and development plans
-
Manage all disciplinary procedures, warnings, and terminations in line with labour law
-
Provide guidance to managers on handling employee conduct issues professionally
4. Payroll Management & HR Administration
-
Oversee payroll input and ensure timely and accurate processing in collaboration with finance

Manage employee records, contracts, leave tracking, and related HR systems
-
Ensure compliance with all labour legislation and company policy
5. Employee Relations

Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture

Address employee grievances and conflicts promptly and fairly
6. Training & Development

Identify training needs and implement impactful learning programs

Track and assess effectiveness of training initiatives
7. Health, Safety & Wellness
-
Support workplace safety standards and wellness initiatives
-
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
8. HR Reporting & Analytics

Maintain up-to-date HR metrics, dashboards, and monthly reporting

Use data to guide decision-making and strategic planning
Requirements:

5+ years of HR experience in a generalist or management role

In-depth knowledge of South African labour law and HR compliance
-
Proven experience in payroll coordination and disciplinary management
-
Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
-
High EQ and discretion when handling confidential matters

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred)
